This past weekend was a bowling weekend for me! I went on Saturday with some of my church
members and friends and recently just got back from bowling with my
brothers. It has been a nice weekend
bowling because bowling reminds me of the winter time when there is nothing to
do but to bowl. We used to go every
single weekend in the past and have around 20 people go out there to the lanes
and just bowl and socialize. Sheboygan
is not the most exciting place during the winter time so bowling quickly became
a hobby for most of us. I usually
average around 180 or so, which is mediocre for a bowler. The most that I have ever scored was 246,
which was very exciting! I still
remember that day like it just happened.
I was playing lights out and was doing very well.
When it comes to bowling, there are many different kinds of
techniques that will make you a better bowler.
First, it comes with your form and how you approach before you
throw. Secondly, it depends on how heavy
your bowling all is and how hard you throw the bowling ball. Finally, the key to becoming a good bowler is
to be consistent with everything that you do.
I have noticed from experience and from watching other people is that
bowling it kind of like a rhythm, you try to do the same thing every time you
get up to the lane and toss your bowling ball the same. If you are hitting the ‘pocket’, which is
where you are suppose to be hitting to get a strike, you want to hit that spot
every single time to get all strikes. It
is easier said than done but consistency really helps a person become a great
bowler.
I have always wanted to try joining a bowling league but
never had the courage to push myself in joining. Hopefully in the future, I can join some
small leagues and get the feeling of playing with others and enjoying the sport
as well. My coworkers talk about it all
the time so I hope we start a team.
